SedCom Needs YOU!
DOCS is urging you,
our members, to join the Sedation Committee (SedCom) in your state.
As a SedCom member,
you are asked to attend and/or monitor the dental board meetings, stay on top
of oral sedation issues covered in those meetings, and to be the voice for oral
sedation in your state. As a sedation dentist, your activity in these meetings
creates a well-informed board—and other “highly interested” organizations are
already doing this.
Your side must be heard!
How SedCom works
Many states already
have a SedCom chair who is a long-time DOCS member and experienced sedation
dentist. The SedCom chair is responsible for marshalling other DOCS members in
the state to appear and occasionally present meticulously prepared (by DOCS) sedation
information.
A calendar of each
state’s upcoming dental board meetings can be found at the end of this article
and will also be posted on EliteDOCS (docsmembers.org/forums) in the
“Regulations and Dental Board Meetings” forum. (Please verify this information by contacting your dental board for the
most up-to-date revisions in dates, times, locations, and agenda cut-offs.)
To review the importance of SedCom, be sure to read “A State Board Case
Study: North Carolina”
and see how important YOU are as a voice for your sedation patients!
For more
information on joining your state SedCom or becoming a SedCom chair, please

Regulatory Counsel, at John@DOCSeducation.com.
DOCS
looks forward to seeing ALL of our members participating in SedCom!
